My wife is an artist and is fascinated by how people capture light in paintings. Rachel does this in an amazing way and is one of Danielle’s favourite artists so naturally when a milestone birthday came around I got in touch about a commission.
The whole process was really easy. We communicated first through Instagram, then by email and shared ideas for the painting, with helpful guidance and suggestions made to help the finished piece even better. The painting is perfect as we know we it would be and receives universal appreciation from everyone who sees it.
Rachel even made a lovely frame for us and packaged the painting up beautifully for its journey home. Danielle’s painting now hangs in pride of place in our lounge where we can now see one of our favourite sunset views anytime we like. Thank you, I suspect our first ‘Painter’ won’t be our last!’

I chose to commission a painting as a leaving gift for a fantastic colleague to combine something unique and individually tailored with ever lasting happy memories of our times working together.
It was not easy to find the right person and artist, but after local and regional searching was drawn to Rachel’s evocative skies and seascapes.
Once in contact with Rachel, I knew straightaway that she was the right person. She is quick to respond, is careful to establish what it is you like and are looking for with a really helpful set of outlined examples for me to choose from - guided by her expert advice. Rachel was amazing throughout the process from reviewing my idea based on a collation of pictures from our engagement, quotation, initial sketch, first review then final tweaks. I am so happy with the outcome which I chose to have framed locally after Rachel sent it (securely packaged) to Cheshire. My partner was really impressed and every time I look at the piece it takes me back to that special moment, as she has captured the light and the emotion so well! At the moment this is in my office because it's in my background when I do lives and videos. As it’s just across from ‘Helford Passage’, where I first came up with the idea for ‘The Dark Room’ novel, it's very significant. When these few launch weeks are over it'll go into the living room over the fireplace.
We can't travel at the moment, but a beautiful painting can take you away - just like a book can (shameless plug). I love how Rachel captures light!

We were looking for an artwork to decorate our new extension and, as we love Cornwall after many happy holidays there, I was really pleased to find Rachel's collection online. I loved the seascapes with wild flowers in the foreground. The painting we purchased is absolutely beautiful with speckles of flowers and a vivid sunset over the sea behind, adding a lovely splash of colour to our new room and looks gorgeous. Rachel was so helpful, selecting a frame that complimented the painting and our decor, and it's now hung in pride of place above our breakfast bar!

“Living over in Western Australia now, I use Instragram to fulfil my need to see my home county, Cornwall. I follow various businesses and bloggers but it was when scrolling through the hashtag #cornwall a colourful seascape caught my eye. Once clicking on the Instagram picture I realised it was an advertisement for Rachel’s pop up gallery. Seeing that the gallery had already been open for a couple of days I quickly messaged my mum and sent her over to the gallery to see if my one of favourite paintings was still available. She messaged to say that they had sold the day before. Undeterred I contacted Rachel to see if I could commission a similar painting, but unbeknown to me my mum had purchased one to gift to me! We both love the paintings that Rachel creates, the colourful wildflowers in the foreground really pop against the blue sea. I am so pleased to get my hands on one of the Sea Blooms collection and I can’t wait to bring the beauty back to Australia with me!

Some three years ago I moved from a large-ish farmhouse to an apartment in Falmouth. I had far too many pictures, prints, photographs, statues etc. Some were chosen by my late wife. So those had to come. Some were things I collected on my own since 2004. They had to come too. I also had some family pictures and yes they had to come too. I said at the time of moving "Peter do not buy any more pictures”. That was until I saw "First Light" so I have now made a place for it. I saw - I loved - I bought. It has a tranquil presence.
