Winter Studio
December News & Highlights
Hello there! After a four-day power cut, some dark days, and a hefty dent in our log store, the studio is alive again! I hope you survived the storm well?
My latest piece feels like a full-on fiery immersion of colour and energy that’s been brewing whilst sitting in the dark waiting for the power to return!

In The Studio
This month I've been reflecting on how beauty rises from chaos—those unexpected moments where something raw and alive emerges.
The two paintings above are part of that exploration. They began with wild bursts of layered colour—so much fun!—and ended up somewhere calmer but still vibrant, with unexpected hues reverberating through the shadows.
And this large new piece in progress? 👇 Its first layers feel so alive, I’m determined not to lose that energy. Sharing it with you at this stage feels like a promise to myself —to leave more of the rawness intact!!
What do you think of its beginning? Can you imagine where it might go from here?
The Winter Show
Exhibiting In Scotland
The Winter Show at Fotheringham Gallery is in full swing, and it’s a beauty! Gallery owner and curator Claire has gathered an incredible selection of artists to create a vibrant, inspiring exhibition. I’m thrilled to have four fiery sunset paintings included in the show— and one has already found its new home!
Can’t make it in person? Enjoy the exhibition online here:

Colour Of The Month
Current colour obsession: cornflower blue with a whisper of warmth.
Set against fiery reds and luminous yellows, it creates a dynamic tension that makes your eye dance. I love how it feels playful, bold, and surprisingly harmonious all at once. Perhaps it’s the colour of quiet courage—or maybe it’s those days by the fire during the power cut, sneaking their way into my work this week!
How about you? What colours are you drawn to this season? Reply in the comments below— I’d love to know!
